Variations on an Original Theme

This piece was composed from October to December of 2016. The theme is a simple 2-part invention in the Phrygian mode. The variations range from unaccompanied melody to romantic outburst to jagged rhythmic leaps. The twelfth and final variation is a four voice fugue.
